The “White” is taken in terms of the white canvas (here inverted flat onto the camera screen), the point of origin for a painting. However, the artists reposition the artistic discourse into the place of a hospital (where white takes on a clinical importance).
The painting surgery is performed through smearing paint on and wiping it away so that the white light of the empty operating table appears, disappears, and reappears.
The artists see it as: White is the light, the extreme point; it could be the beginning or the end; birth or death. Hospitals could be also considered as places of beginnings and ends [of lives].
